Living on a Budget: How I Explored Costa Rica for $450 a Month

I spent a month in Costa Rica for only $450 by utilizing the Selina Colive program, which is an incredible option for digital nomads. This program allows you to stay in Selina accommodations for an entire month in a given country. In Costa Rica, you can pay $450 for 30 days of dorm room accommodation, or opt to pay more for a private room. The Colive program also enables you to switch locations up to three times during your stay. During my trip, I spent 10 days each in Nosara, Manuel Antonio, and Puerto Viejo. Additionally, the Colive program provides access to a coworking space with amazing Wi-Fi, free coffee, and complimentary activities such as yoga or workouts.

Selina Manuel Antonio

It’s located on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica, close to the epic Manuel Antonio National Park. The area is known for its beautiful beaches and super lush rainforest, making it a major hotspot for all you nature-lovers and thrill-seekers out there. Some of the most lit things to do around here include surfing, kayaking, zip-lining, and hiking through the national park. You can also get up close and personal with some of the sickest wildlife around, like monkeys, sloths, and exotic birds. Oh, and don’t forget to catch a catamaran tour or go whale watching to see some crazy cool dolphins and humpback whales.

Selina Nosara

This Selina is all about that laid-back vibe and killer surfing scene. It’s located in the Guanacaste province of Costa Rica, which is famous for being chill AF. The beaches around here are some of the most beautiful in the country, and there are a ton of yoga and wellness retreats if you’re looking to get your om on. Whether you’re a total noob or a gnarly pro, you can totally catch some sick waves by taking a surf lesson or renting a board.

Oh, and if you’re into wildlife, you have to check out the nearby Ostional Wildlife Refuge. It’s where the world’s largest nesting site of olive ridley sea turtles is at, and it’s like, totally epic to see them hatch and make their way to the ocean. You can also ride horses, go on ATV tours, and explore some crazy waterfalls around here, so get ready for some rad adventures!

Selina Puerto Viejo

If you’re looking for some Caribbean vibes and serious natural beauty. It’s located on the east coast of Costa Rica, and it’s all about that Afro-Caribbean culture, y’all. The beaches here are like, out of this world, and there are tons of rainforests and wildlife sanctuaries to explore. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can take a jungle hike and like, spot some monkeys, sloths, and other exotic animals. Or, you can go snorkeling or scuba diving and like, check out some super colorful coral reefs. And let’s not forget about the food, oh my gosh. There are so many street vendors and restaurants around here that serve up some of the most bomb Caribbean cuisine you’ve ever tasted. Rice and beans, jerk chicken, and coconut bread, anyone? Yum!

One of the best things about Selina Coliving is the flexibility it offers. With locations all over the world, I was able to choose to work and travel in some of the most exciting destinations. And with their affordable pricing, you can extend your stay and explore more of each location.

In addition to the stylish and comfortable accommodations, Selina Coliving also provided a range of perks for remote workers like myself. The high-speed internet and coworking spaces allowed me to stay productive and connected while on the road. Plus, the events and activities like yoga classes and cultural experiences gave me the opportunity to meet other digital nomads and make new friends.

But what I loved the most about Selina Coliving was the sense of community it provided. Working remotely can be isolating, but by staying in Selina’s coliving spaces, I was able to meet people from all over the world who share my passion for travel and remote work. It was a great way to make new friends and expand my professional network.

Overall, I highly recommend Selina Coliving’s program for anyone looking to travel affordably as a digital nomad. With their stylish accommodations, flexible pricing, and range of perks, it’s the perfect way to combine work and adventure.
